Hello World!

Let’s hope this is not a sign of things to come ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Baby E was born last Wednesday. This is just a quick post before I forget stuff.

We got to the hospital really early and REALLY tired because we made the mistake of watching Originals the night before and then we couldn’t sleep ๐Ÿ™ˆ Hospital check in was quick and we were lucky enough to snap up a private room. This was really fortunate because the maternity ward got really busy the next day.

The whole process was so chilled this time around because it was a planned C section. There was no rush or sense of urgency. I got to experience everything at a calm pace and really absorb what was going on. It was all kinds of wonderful. The only odd part was when they had to push baby out because she was too high. I thought the table beneath me was going to snap! That poor baby got squeezed out like a tube of toothpaste! We also only decided on her name while we were in theatre and we still don’t have a second name yet.

I got to breastfeed within the first hour and have been going strong ever since. (Surprisingly I dont hate it!) I topped her up with formula at the hospital because I couldn’t take her hungry cry. Luckily my milk came in on the third day so she has just had breastmilk since then. I expressed and fed her by bottle a few times but she was gulping it too fast and then spitting it up again. I’m going to wait until she is a month then I will give the bottles another go.

She has pretty much been drinking and sleeping ever since we got home. A total change from A when she was home from the hospital. I’d like to say that this means we have been getting enough sleep but for some reason she wakes every hour to feed at night. In between feeds she makes all these weird noises in her sleep so I keep checking to see if she’s still breathing ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ The doc said I need to wake her and feed her more often during the day. This should make her sleep longer at night. I started today so will post a follow up in a couple of days or weeks.

Her long sleeps during the day mean that I have had a chance to hang out with A more than I thought I would. She has been an absolute star. Totally taken with her baby sister. She does get jealous but doesn’t seem to be directing any of the blame towards the baby so that’s good.

Anyway, will post more later. Gotta put this pile of clothes away before the next feed. On that note…my boobs are SO tender! Ow.

    1. Thanks!! I keep telling people she has been such a lovely accomodating baby so far. Now I’m worried I spoke too soon ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

    1. Hi! Thanks! It’s actually been so great. I don’t even hate breastfeeding (shock!) Luckily both the grannies are here so my daughter has been constantly getting enough attention from someone or the other. Definitely much less stressful the second time around.
